SEASONAL FORECASTS IN EUROPE

French English

In Europe:

The thermal differences should be slight during this first winter month. Relatively soft temperatures are expected in the north of Russia and the north of Scandinavia. On the contrary, there should be a deficit of temperatures between the Caspian Sea, central Europe and the east of France. Anticyclonic conditions may very present over the European continent, bringing along a dry weather from the north of Spain and the British Isles to the Russian border. Rains and snow should then be weak over these territories. Only Iceland, Andalusia and the north of Morocco may have more important precipitations than usual at this period of time.

In France:

Temperatures may be slightly below the average seasonal data, with a stronger thermal deficit over the east of the country. We should notice a lack of precipitations since rains and snow will be rare and weak, except around the Mediterranean region, the south of the Alps and the Pyrenees where the amounts of precipitations will be closer to normal. Sunlight may be correct, except in the valleys which should often be filled with low clouds.
